Aksaray Penitentiary Institution
Well Water Treatment System

With a multi-stage integrated treatment design, we brought well water up to service water standards. Spanning from coagulation to advanced membrane technology, this system meets the facility's uninterrupted and safe water needs.

Sector Public / Infrastructure
Location Aksaray, Turkey
Solution Type Multi-Stage Water Treatment
Technologies UF + RO + Degasser

Aksaray Penitentiary Institution requested treatment of its existing well water in order to meet the facility's daily water needs safely, continuously, and sustainably. Raw water analysis clearly showed it was not suitable for direct use.

The client's expectation was clear: a long-lasting, stable, and easy-to-operate system. In a large public facility, water supply assurance is the foundation of operational continuity.

High turbidity and suspended solids
Presence of iron and manganese
Dissolved gases (CO₂, etc.)
Parameters that strain membrane systems
Stage 01 Pre-Treatment and Sludge Management
Coagulation – Flocculation Lamella Sedimentation Filter Press

Suspended solids and turbidity were effectively removed. The resulting sludge was dewatered with a filter press, simplifying disposal.

Stage 02 Filtration and Gas Removal
Turbidex Filter Iron – Manganese Filter Activated Carbon Filter Degasser Unit

Fine particles, iron-manganese, organic matter, and dissolved gases were removed, achieving water quality suitable for membrane systems.

Stage 03 Advanced Treatment and Water Recovery
Ultrafiltration (UF) Reverse Osmosis (RO) RO-2 Concentrate Recovery

High-quality service water was obtained. The concentrate from the RO stage was retreated with a second-stage RO, increasing the water recovery rate.

Well Water Pre-Sedimentation Filtration Degasser UF RO RO-2 Service Water
Safe and uninterrupted water supply
Well water was brought up to the facility's quality standards, and continuous supply was secured.
Protection of membrane systems
With properly designed pre-treatment, the risk of membrane fouling and scaling was minimized.
High water recovery rate
With the second-stage RO, wastewater was reduced and the source water was used far more efficiently.
Controlled sludge management
With the filter press system, sludge disposal was carried out in a regular, clean, and environmentally friendly manner.
