Water contaminated by domestic, industrial, agricultural and other uses is called wastewater. Physical, chemical and biological treatment processes are called wastewater treatment in order to regain some or all of the chemical, physical and biological properties lost by wastewater, and to discharge water with accepted environmental standards. In practice, one or more of these processes can be applied together.
Chemical treatment is the process of precipitation of dissolved or suspended solids in wastewater by using chemicals.
Biological treatment is the process of biodegradation of dissolved organic materials in domestic or industrial wastewater by using various bacteria.
Physical treatment is the process of removing the solid substances in wastewater that can collapse by itself from wastewater.
